ItineraryFirst Day We head out of Perth through its picturesque surrounding areas before our first stop, one of Western Australia’s unique natural attractions – the Pinnacles Desert! We give you some quality time here to wander around this enchanting desert in the Nambung National Park before taking a well earned swim. Once refreshed and ready to move on we’ll pass through the crayfishing town of Dongara and Geraldton on our way up to Kalbarri! Overnight : Kalbarri Second Day An early start this morning to check out the beautiful gorges close by the picturesque town of Kalbarri (remember to pack your lunch). We will take you to Natures Window, The Loop and Z-Bend Gorges where you can climb down into the heart of the gorge and take a wander in these beautiful surroundings. It’s then time to move onto the Shark Bay World Heritage Region and check out the Hamelin Pool Stromatolites before heading into Denham. Overnight : Denham Third Day This morning, we head over early to Monkey Mia so you can see the magical dolphins (nature permitting of course). After mingling with these fabulous creatures or maybe cruising on a catamaran (optional) we’ll head off and go and take a look at some sharks up close & personal at the unique Ocean Park before a stop to see the amazing Shell Beach. It’s then on to Carnarvon before arriving in the small town of Coral Bay where you may catch one of the beautiful north western sunsets. Overnight : Coral Bay Fourth Day Ahhh, beautiful Coral Bay!! This morning we’ll have a leisurely start to the day with a snorkel amongst the beautiful coral on the Ningaloo Reef (free option). We’ll be going straight past Exmouth (for now) to the Cape Range National Park and a magnificent snorkelling spot over the Ningaloo Reef at stunning Turquoise Bay. After our beach swim we’ll head back into Exmouth. Overnight : Exmouth Fifth Day A fair amount of driving to get under our belt today, so we head out of Exmouth early, stopping along the way for morning tea. It’s back on the road driving through cattle country, crossing the Ashburton River before the scenic drive (in outback terms ? into Karijini NP via Paraburdoo where we’ll do a supermarket stop before going on to our fantastic overnight campsite. Overnight : Karijini Eco Retreat (Permanent Campsite – beds & linen provided) Sixth Day An early morning start (remember to pack your lunch), so we can have quality time at one of the stunning gorges in the Karijini National Park. We’ll take a look out over Circular Pool before taking the fantastic walk through Dales Gorge. An excellent hike up the gorge to Fortescue Falls before a well deserved & refreshing swim at the gorgeous leafy rock pool behind – Fern Pool. You won’t believe you are in the outback! Overnight : Pardoo Station (working cattle station stay) Seventh Day See 80 Mile Beach on our way to Broome – miles of white sandy beach either way you look! Watch out for the dolphins that may be playing just off shore! Take a stroll if you wish before it’s time to slip into Broome-time!! We’ll show off the sights before you experience your first swim at the magical Cable Beach! Then, it’s sad, we know – but time has come to say farewell to those heading on to Darwin – Enjoy your travels & keep having fun all over Oz! Eighth Day Leaving beautiful Broome we are heading out across the plains over the mighty Fitzroy River to Fitzroy Crossing. After lunch we head out to Geikie Gorge National Park to do an interesting aboriginal cultural boat cruise up the heart of the gorge. Viewing this gorge is at it’s best from a boat & we have included it in to your trip up the Great Northern Highway. As this is the only town on our Easyrider way that has no backpacker hostel accommodation – we have set up our own permanent camp site! Overnight : Fitzroy Crossing River Lodge (Permanent Campsite – linen provided) Ninth Day Heading out of Fitzroy Crossing we stop in to look at an interesting Aboriginal Art Gallery (seasonal option). Here you’ll have a chance to purchase some unique Aboriginal art and to possibly see an artist at work. We then pass through Halls Creek before going up for a refreshing swim at a lovely rock pool called ‘The Grotto’ in the Kununurra region. If our timing allows us, we try to make the stunning sunset to be viewed from the prominent Kelly’s Knob in Kununurra to finish off our day. Overnight : Kununurra Tenth Day This morning you’ll either do your pre-booked Scenic Flight over ‘The Bungles’ – Purnululu (Optional) or stay with the rest of the group and explore Emma Gorge. A big walk along the river bed with a stunning rock pool at the end to have a swim in, is a treat! Make sure you’ve packed your lunch to eat whilst we’re here. If you’re interested in taking the fantastic 2 hour flight over the Bungles please book with your Driver (or Easyrider Reservations) prior to arrival in Kununurra. After our Emma Gorge walk we’ll collect any ‘Flight takers’ before looking further around this area. We’ll check out Ivanhoe’s Crossing or the interesting Zebra Rock Gallery (& the hoards of catfish to feed if you wish) before taking a walk through Mirimar National Park (said to be like a mini Bungle Bungle). Kununurra is THE place to jump off for 4WD trips to the Bungles (optional) & awesome 3 day self guided canoe trips (optional) down the Ord River. Overnight : Kununurra Eleventh Day Leaving Kununurra first thing in the morning we’ll call in at Lake Argyle for a fun 1 hour boat cruise (bring your bathers) over this huge mass of water! From here we will be crossing over the Quarantine Checkpoint before entering into the Northern Territory. Time to say a big farewell to your Western Australian experience & hello Northern Territory!!! We’ll be making our way over to Katherine where, if you jump off here, you can canoe up Katherine Gorge. Before our overnight stay just outside of town, we’ll call in to indulge in the Katherine Hot Springs too. An exciting Night Croc Spotting tour & dinner (optional) is available here! Ask your driver! Overnight : Springvale Homestead Twelfth Day Today, we’re on our last leg to Darwin via the amazing Litchfield National Park. First we’ll visit the beautiful Edith Falls in Nitmiluk National Park. Then it’s on to Litchfield where we’ll check out Wangi Falls, Florence Falls & the Magnetic Termite Mounds at the very least. Then, after having loads of swims at beautiful places all day today, it’s onto the Northern Territory’s capital – Darwin! A great place to wind up your tour with all the ‘mates’ you’ve made along your Easyrider way!! – Enjoy your travels & keep having fun all over Oz!
